This course is for doctoral students and postdocs interested in transitioning into a non-university career. Participants will review and assess their current employment situation, and the workshop will give you the practical tools to develop a rewarding career outside of academia, whether in the private or public sector.
During the workshop, participants will learn how to approach the job market (where doctorate holders work outside of academia, the paths you take in your careers, your interactions with employers), and how to prepare for and succeed in a post-academic career.
Over the course of the modules, you will learn to identify and communicate your unique skills (both hard and soft skills) as well as your motivations and interests. You’ll be introduced to the options in the job market that match your profile, and will be encouraged to think expansively to design unique career opportunities for yourself.
